Teaching Methods
Syllabus topics are developed through introductory explanations, supplemented by class discussions and empirical data analysis. The teaching method thus intersects lectures and student collaboration.
Learning Outcomes
The main aim of the course is to raise students’ awareness regarding formal aspects of the Portuguese language that have been proven to be particularly difficult for non-native learners.
Upon completing the course, students are expected to be able to:
– identify the main critical linguistic structures for PL2 learners;
– recognize verbal utterances containing the non-target structures covered in the syllabus;
– detect and correct non-target utterances, as a result of both self- and hetero-monitorization.
