Teaching Methods
The teacher will present in class topics and fiction and nonfiction texts with a progressive level of difficulty. Based on the models of textual approach presented, the work carried out by the students in class will help them develop, from the very beginning, skills in the analysis and critical interpretation of texts.
Learning Outcomes
The aim of this course is to enable students to understand and analyze texts by modern and contemporary Portuguese authors, focusing on short stories, chronicles and essays, while simultaneously developing their lexical, cultural and interpretative skills by establishing connections with different extratextual issues.

Lexical and semantic analysis of different types of texts, with a focus on the topics and issues therein addressed, as well as on the explicit or implicit cultural contexts to which they belong and with which they interact in a critical and dynamic way.
