Teaching Methods

Diverse strategies are used to allow students to learn and comply with the objectives previously mentioned. The lessons are developed by using a curriculum that is based on the desired orientation for the course through various documents (analysis of application projects, maps, photographs, etc.), producing a whole range of practical examples of Physical Geography applied to architecture, urban planning, and even for land. Simultaneously, students will be accompanied by the creation of a project, showing that physical geography as a working basis, will present a character of applicability

Learning Outcomes

Teach and apply knowledge of the concepts of physical geography applicable to architecture and city planning, a lot of the logic framework of sustainability of urban spaces;

• Realize the importance of the relationship of architecture and urbanism with the physical media that influence them, reflecting on the role of biophysical constraints on the structuring of urban space;

• Acquire skills to interpret the interference from the top and microclimate in the built environment, as well as equating responses in terms of the building as well as the endogenous components, as well as understanding the importance of different natural hazards in the context of urban space;

• Interpret different biophysical constraints on their connection to issues of spatial planning and urban design.

• Develop methods and research techniques that allow the taking of a new reading frame design and planning for the implementation of a sustainable architecture and urbanism.
