Elective
1st Cycle Studies
Recommended Prerequisites
General Geology; Sedimentary Petrology.
Teaching Methods
Oral communication using multimedia tools in theoretical teaching. Cooperative work in small groups (maximum of 3 tudents each) in practical laboratory and field work.
Learning Outcomes
1. Knowledge and ability to understand: structure observation and understanding of sedimentological objects on different scales of integration, encouraging the use of current models in the understanding of ancient sediments.
2. Knowledge application and understanding: to collect, analyze, synthesize and process sedimentological information, emphasizing its use and integration into models.
3. Judgment / decision making: to conduct field- and labwork responsibly and safely, adopting attitudes that minimize environmental impacts and value the geological record.
4. Communication: preparing, processing, interpreting and communicating sedimentological information using relevant bibliographical sources, proper discourse and appropriate analytical tools.
5. Self-learning skills: furthering autonomy and the use of existing learning resources.
