Teaching Methods

The course is developed with the accompanying tutorial student, supporting his reflection, direct contact with other stakeholders in the development of the project and preparation of the final product. That reflection is also conducted in a small group.

Learning Outcomes

Students should be able to demonstrate to ensure their professional and school development, adopting critical attitudes towards professional work, in a action-research task with identification and intervention in a local problem, feedback of their action as well as the ability to include it in the agenda for discussion by certain groups or school.

Skills inherent to the course:
Using research data related to education and the development of students who are able to comprehend the relationship between social inequalities and educational outcomes and adopt varied teaching strategies appropriate to the diverse social, personal and motor skills of the students.
Diagnosing educational situations, using instruments of observation and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data in order to understand the complexity and specificity of pedagogical situations. Participating in action research projects and in the organization, administration and school management.

Syllabus

Action-research: nature and modalities. Models and procedures of research-action. Methods and techniques of applied research to educational context.
The deepen definition of the topics/issues to be addressed result from a process of guided reflection, assuming a variable range; lie in the areas of teacher professional development (physical activity, curriculum, school organization and professional ethics) and may stand in a broaden amplitude, from creating/adapting innovative methods, to analysis of relevance and feasibility of official curriculum or organizational initiatives analysis.
