Teaching Methods

Lectures; discussion and presentation of lessons by students of some dificult themes within the area of Geometry; group work; visit to the schools attended by some internal activities.

Learning Outcomes

Students attending this course are future teachers of mathematics at basic and / or secondary shool. So , the main aim of this course is their preparation over a theoretical level or at a practical level, developing some of their instrumental and personal skills (such as the ability to use computational tools, the ability of generalization and abstraction, individual initiative and research capability, capacity of autonomous learning with critical spirit, communication skills ...) in order to perform successfully  their future profession.

Syllabus

Didactics principles in the process  teaching / learning of Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometry  in the 3rd cycle of Basic Education and Secondary : knowledge of geometric space, location and spatial orientation ; dichotomy between the visual nature of geometric intuition and logical deductive reasoning.

Deepening and discussion of the concepts and theorems of geometry taught in current programs of the 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary,  using a  didactic point of view as a scientific approach  within a strong demand  for preparing future teachers of mathematics.
