Recommended Prerequisites
Scientific capacity demonstrated for the pursuit of doctoral course confirmed by a Qualification Exam after completion of the required course work. The Qualification Exam is based on the presentation and discussion of a draft thesis before a jury and held in session convened specifically for the purpose.
Teaching Methods
The work of preparing the thesis, although supervised by the advisor, presupposes the author’s research autonomy. It implies a schedule of regular meetings and the delivery of interim-essays, chapters or detailed reports showing the good progress of the research work in accordance with the pre-established work plan).
Learning Outcomes
This uc aims to track the broad lines of a PhD thesis development, as part of the Doctor degree. Meets the requirements stipulated in the regulations of the University of Coimbra.
With regard to the generic skills in Economics, this uc seeks to ensure results that prove advanced research in economic studies, and of their contextualisation of the dynamics and processes of governance.
