Project Development on Non-Structural Rehabilitation

Recommended Prerequisites

No specific prerequisites beyond the general conditions for the course admission.

Teaching Methods

The work will be developed, preferentially, by groups of students with heterogeneous background, on a specific building, eventually integrated in an external partnership and with other technical and scientific contributions, notably through the presence of prominent designers and staff from other areas. The work will have a continuous monitoring of the teachers and it will be marked by 3 or 4 key moments of synthesis and discussion.

Learning Outcomes

The students should contact and be directly engaged with the application of technical knowledge and methodological approach in the intervention on specific building that needs rehabilitation.

The students should experiment the confrontation between the research methodology and design methodology applied in order to develop skills in the development of an applied research project;

The students should acquire the adequate knowledge the skills on interdisciplinary and decision strategies in rehabilitation projects.

The students should enhance their critical thinking in situations with multiple variables and different levels of confidence.
