Teaching Methods

Teaching model both theoretical and practical, combining in a balanced way theoretical presentations, presentation and discussion of case studies, critical participation by students (including the development of mini-projects), and also the contact with entities and relevant external projects, either through guest speakers, or through field visits.

Learning Outcomes

Students must acquire comprehensive knowledge in the following areas:

- Project management of urban rehabilitation / rehabilitation of buildings, from the perspective of both public and private investor;

- Analysis tools of the construction market, rehabilitation and real estate activity

- Funding instruments for rehabilitation operations at local, national and European levels

- Organization of applications for competitive funding

To support these goals, students must still consolidate basic knowledge in project management and financial analysis tools.

3. Foundations of economic analysis and financial viability

- The discount rate

- The net present value

- Internal rate of return

- The payback period of the investment

4. Structural support tools for rehabilitation

- Programmes for development and investment

- Applicable tax incentives

- Entities and agents and tools of financial support.
