Learning Outcomes
The student should understand the reasons for a particular prescription of exercise, knowing their limitations, advantages and disadvantages. At the end of the course the student should know how to make a prescription of exercise for the diseases and risk factors described throughout the semester.

Physical Activity and Health. Risk stratification of metabolic and cardiovascular disease. Need of counseling or medical supervision. Brief notions of Exercise Physiology. Clinical prior assessment. Physical tests. General rules of exercise prescription. Exercise prescription for special situations: overweight and obesity; dyslipidemias; atherosclerosis; heart disease; hypertension; ischemic diseases of the extremities (intermittent claudication); respiratory diseases; diabetes mellitus type 1 and type 2; metabolic syndrome; osteoporosis; arthrosis; exercise prescription in children, adolescents, pregnants and elderlies; Medications and exercise prescription; doping; rrugs of abuse.
