Syllabus

The Design Lab contents can vary, depending on the thematic focus of the Urban Project to be developed, by each student, as a Master Thesis. They are, however, in the wake of the Design Studio IIC syllabus - Landscape and Teritory - which is based on an overall strategy that considers:

- the support of a given geographical area of intervention;

- the historical development of this area;

- the understanding of the role of the physical preexistences;

- the framework of existing territorial and urban policies;

- the architectures to be detailed;

In this Design Lab, students deepen and conclude an Urban Project, at different scales of detail, based on the (re)design of an environmental sensite area, together with urban design and public spaces, and community facilities, considered relevant for the urban restructuring and regeneration of that given area.
