The methodology consists of direct teaching of concepts aincluding discussion with students and application to practical situations through the guided resolution of problems evolving to autonomous  resolution.

Understand and use basic concepts of physics, and apply them to the study of systems of interest to biology.

Knowledge and application to systems of interest, of techniques and methodologiescommonly used in Physics.

Awareness of the  importance of Physics in all areas of science (with particular emphasis on life sciencies) and technology

1 - MECHANICS OF PARTICLES AND SYSTEMS OF PARTICLES

1.1  Concepts of Kinematics (3D) - Position, velocity, acceleration

1.2  Application to the study of 2D movements.

1.2  Particle Dinamics

 - Newton laws forces, linear momentum, and impulse; work

 - Application to specific situations.

- Work and kinetic energy.

- Force fields; conservative force fields; potencial energy.

- Conservation of the mechanical energy (of a particle).

1.3 Systems of particles

- Equilibrium conditions.

- Center of mass; movement of center of mass. Applications.

- Conservation of energy. Examples.

2 - ELEMENTARY MECHANICS OF FLUIDS

2.1 Hydrostatic

2.2 Motion of non-viscous fluids.

2.3 Viscous fluids.

 

3 - OSCILLATIONS

- Simple harmonic motion: kinematics and dynamics. Conservation of mechanical energy.

- Superposition of two simple harmonic motions.

- Damped oscillattions

- Forced oscillations

- Resonance
