Learning Outcomes

The subject of Theory of Architecture II presents the principles that are present in the disciplinary exercise, it discusses on the theoretical and critical corpus that are the base knowledge of the built space and analyzes the conditions of the modern and contemporary practice of architecture. It considers aspects directly related to the history and criticism and the design process. In this way it provides, on the one hand, an understanding of the historical conditions underlying their practice and, on the other hand, an operative dimension, even before it is considered the subject of research.

This subject conveys a set of issues that challenge the disciplinary core of architecture: artistic movements and political issues such as feminism and colonial processes, allow to reframe architecture as an available phenomenon to eruptions on art, society, culture. It is a multifaceted subject, which can accommodate those discourses and discuss them with new meanings.
