Teaching Methods

Students, as part of an ongoing assessment, discuss the paths already traveled and those still to travel, of the thematic proposals: in oral presentations, notes on works read and preparation of papers and research syntheses.

Learning Outcomes

Students should be able to understand the state of the art of thematic proposals, master the most advanced methodologies and conceptualizations and research, to understand in person or by computer, the most appropriate sources in libraries and archives, in order to develop their historical work synthesis and research.

The professors in the area of Medieval History have broad production and dissertation thesis advisement experience in the fields of History of Politics and Powers, Economic and Social History, History of Institutions, and Religious and Cultural History. They also have, in historiographical terms, weighed paths already trodden and those still to trod in various topics, having gained  valuable knowledge and being open to new paths of research, in accordance with current conceptualizations and methodologies and in conjunction with the challenges that the 2020 agenda has given to humanities aimed at boosting innovative and sustainable "societal" changes:

 1. Construction of the kingdoms under Christianity

 2. Demographic mobilities

 3. Rural and urban settings.
