Learning Outcomes

The teaching of this seminar should make the cultural specificity of the medieval world and its diversity noticeable, seen from the particular situation of the crop produced in Portugal. The presence of a written Latin culture in connection with the clerical environment, and the slow emergence of a culture in Galician-Portuguese that discovers writing from the late eleventh century is highlighted. Students, through class attendance, should have a clear understanding of the different existing cultural resources and their main cultural production as well as the evolution of each over the study period.
