Recommended Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of african portuguese language literatures.

Teaching Methods

Prior reading of suggested texts, including the theoretical ones; teacher’s interventions to expose facts, issues and problems; debate of scheduled issues for each session with the intervention of all; debates about  the 'corpora', bibliographies, themes and issues involving doctoral students in more advanced stages; motivation for research on authors and topics little approached; discuss research prospects concerning the PhD;  formal / scheduled presentations; development of communications to present at conferences and final papers.

Learning Outcomes

Building advanced knowledge in the field. Choice of research objects to integrate in groups and aimed at preparing papers, theses and communications.

1. Texts and institution: history, heritage, canon and ruptures.
2. Coloniality and post Coloniality: tracks and anticipations in the past; remains at present.
3. problematic questions: unknown texts, unusual authorship, ambivalent identities and new directions.
