Recommended Prerequisites
It is essential that students have basic knowledge of preceding areas of the Integrated Master in Medicine, including: Anatomy and Phisiology. Additionally, students need to have knowledge of English language and basic information technologies.
Teaching Methods
Expositive and demonstrative methods will be used. Classes begin with a brief theoretical introduction to the scientific basis of the subject in focus, followed by tutorials and surgical practice in simulated models of some of these techniques. The main objective is to address the programmed contents from a practical perspective. Surgical techniques are previously exemplified by the tutor. Students performance in several techniques will be monitored and evaluated.
Learning Outcomes
Stimulate the student for medical research, provide the essential knowledge to the development of a scientific project and enable the student to perform basic surgical techniques in the practice of experimental surgery and in a professional context.
