Knowledge in Conservation and Rehabilitation of properties (1st cycle graduate level).

Teaching Methods

Tutorial classes in which the syllabus will be discussed in a systematic way using examples of interventions on heritage building and practical applications.

Learning Outcomes

The goal is to develop a coherent knowledge for intervention in Conservation and Rehabilitation in built cultural heritage, particularly directed to prepare the students in the context of intervention projects, based in practical and laboratory work, accompanied by tutorials. Main themes are the conservation of stone, mortar, ceramics, glass and metals in the context of heritage property as well as the compatibility of old and new materials.

Work using different techniques for characterization of materials under the Conservation and Rehabilitation subject with a particular focus on identifying pathologies in stone, mortar, ceramics, glass and metals. Application to specific objects of study with the proposal of intervention.
