Teaching Methods
The teaching methodologies include three types of session: theoretical sessions (4), theoretical sessions followed by a workshop (6), and sessions visiting local museums (3). The sessions include a presentation of the theoretical themes through case studies and examples using a data show, followed by discussion of the issues presented. In workshop sessions students are divided into groups of three to five to discuss an aspect of the main theme of the session, a spokesperson reports back the findings to everyone. Continuing evalution, the final requires a written work.
Learning Outcomes
Understanding the context of communication in museums. Locate the position of the Museum among the mass media. Knowing the evolution of the communication concept in the history of Museums.
Develop a framework for the exhibition of objects and collections. Knowing the communication tools of display. Explore concepts of communication for exhibits.
Touch the area of public evaluation and investigation in the Museum communication project. Understanding the internal and external levels of Museum communication.
Explore knowledge of the theories of communication and learning as tools for exhibition development. Knowing the involvement of education in the process.
Understand the importance of total accessibility and social regeneration of the Museum. Understand the duties of the marketing communication process in the Museum.
Develop management strategies for the exhibition project taking into account the aspects of conservation of objects and features of different audiences.
