Recommended Prerequisites

Students should have completed all courses of the previous years of the Master’s degree. The regulations of precedence defined by the Scientific Council must be respected.

As this a clinical course, students should have the physical and psychological requirements to be doctors. We consider these to be part of their admission process in the Master’s degree in Medicine.

Learning Outcomes

 

General Objectives and Teaching / Learning Outcomes:

1 - To become familiar with the patients’ approaches to complaints, problems and issues.

2 - To develop skills to address these complaints, problems and issues.

3 - To acquire necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to become a General Practitioner: to provide medical care that takes into consideration the patient, his/her family context and the community perspective.

4 - To define medical practice in General Medical Practice.

5 - To apply the medical registry method directed at solving problems.

6 - To carry out a family assessment, identifying the type and setting action plan for the family.

7 - To describe the means of promoting health and disease prevention.

8 - To foresee the need for continuous medical care.

9 - Mastering the common problems of the chronically ill, disabled and terminal.
