Teaching Methods

The discipline of Gynecology has an integrated teaching. Theoretical classes of the expository type, practical classes with clinical activity, solving real and virtual clinical cases and training in simulation models. Other pedagogical methods are associated: podcast, videolearning and image interpretation.

The discipline of Obstetrics has an integrated teaching, involving theoretical classes of the expository type and practical classes with clinical activity, solving of real and virtual clinical cases and training in simulation models. 

Learning Outcomes

The teaching of Gynecology aims effective knowledge acquisition  in women´s health, throught different hormonal stages. Prevention, diagnosis, interpretation of complementary tests and general guidelines for the treatment of the most common gynecological diseases are fundamental for the clinical practice of the future pluripotencial doctor. The prevention of gynecology and breast disorders and the promotion of women´s health and QoL constitute the mainly purpose of gynecology learning.

The teaching of Obstetrics aims at allowing the students to the acquisition of essential theoretical knowledge of physiology and pathophysiology of pregnancy, labor and delivery and basic practical skills aims to provide a solid foundation enabling the future physician to promote maternal and fetal health, ensure the clinical assessment of a normal pregnancy and properly identify the main pathologies associated with ou induced by pregnancy.
