Recommended Prerequisites

Principles of Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Physiology, Immunology, Genetics, Pharmacology, Pathology and Physiopathology. 

Teaching Methods

Theoretical and practical classes; PBL (Problem Based Learning); face-to-face teaching and bed-side teaching of the oncology inpatient. Attendance of occupations clinics Day Hospital and Radio-oncology department.

Learning Outcomes

Understanding of genetic and molecular oncology principles; pathophysiology of oncogenesis. Epidemiology of cancer; cancer prevention and screening. General principles of surgical, medical and radio-oncology intervention in cancer patient. Diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic approach to the most common of cancer types (breast ca., gastrointestinal ca.; lung ca., prostate ca., head and neck ca., melanoma, ca. of unknown primary). Oncology emergencies. Infection in cancer patient. Rehabilitation and palliative care.

- General mechanisms of oncogenesis,
