1st Cycle Studies
Recommended Prerequisites
At the beginning of the course unit, it is recommended that the student have basic knowledge of nervous system histology, neck anatomy, and English.
Teaching Methods
Theoretical and theoretical-practical classes: presentation of the descriptive, topographic, and functional anatomy of the head, establishing correlations between anatomical drawings/3D models and imaging (sectional anatomy), using clinical cases and the interrogative method.
Practical classes: consolidation of knowledge acquired in the theoretical class through discussion of topics and problem-solving, contact with anatomical models, anatomical specimens, and CT and MRI images.
Learning Outcomes
The aim is for the student to acquire fundamental knowledge of neuroanatomy, esthesiology, and the anatomy of the skull and head muscles, while developing their medical vocabulary, expository/descriptive skills, and topographical concepts, with a practical perspective on their future application in understanding disease mechanisms, imaging interpretation, and solving clinical problem.
