Recommended Prerequisites

Prior acquired knowledge in curricular units of Portuguese Literature and Portuguese Linguistics on the 1st cycle of studies.

Teaching Methods

The syllabus topics are developed through explanations, supplemented by class discussions and empirical data analysis. The teaching method thus intersects lectures and student collaboration.

Learning Outcomes

In the module Topics of Portuguese Language ,at the end of the semester students should be able to:
- understand the syllabus basic concepts ;
- identify deictics’presence in a text and understand its functionality ;
- relate different linguistic structures with different communicative intentions and different social situations in the context of language use;
- detect cohesion textual / discursive problems and be able to solve them.
In the module Topics of Portuguese Literature, at the end of the semester students should be able to:
- master the core concepts covered in the syllabus;
- relate literary texts from various genres and typologies ;
- detect intertextual relationships.
