Completion of all the courses of the 1st-year.

Teaching Methods

The students will make oral presentations on the texts they read and relate those texts to their teaching experience. Before each presentation, the students will hand in written notes or texts. The presentations will be followed by discussion in the seminar. The seminar sessions on complementary topics will be based on expository presentation by the teacher and the study of practical examples or other tasks by students.

Learning Outcomes

The seminar is mainly aimed at preparing and guiding the students' final MA report which focuses on their supervised teaching practice and their specific research topic. Students are expected to:

– show a good grasp of the chosen topic, which will focus on teaching methodology with emphasis on the Spanish language, and be able to extract relevant information from the literature for their supervised teaching practice and their report;

– be able to develop, in the preparation of their report, a coherent argumentation, based on sound theoretical principles and practical example, and appropriately documented.

Syllabus

The topics to be discussed in the seminar are those chosen by the students for their final MA reports. These topics will allow students to connect the course contents addressed in Spanish Didactics with their teaching practice, further deepening their understanding of the research issues. The topic of the MA reports may be complemented by other topics that are relevant for the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.
