Teaching Methods
Student-centered teaching methods will be prioritized, encouraging dialogue, active participation in class, and group work. In addition, materials from various textbooks will be used, as well as diverse authentic materials extracted from real-world contexts.
Learning Outcomes
This seminar is designed for futures teachers. Students are expected to:
- Develop oral and written comprehension and production skills and master grammatical structures corresponding to level B2.1 of the CEFR (higher level content may be included if this is more appropriate to the students' prior knowledge);
- Come into contact with aspects of the sociocultural reality of German-speaking countries, focusing on various and current topics;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the diversity within the German-speaking world and make comparisons with Portuguese realities, while identifying relevant issues regarding contact between cultures;
- Consolidate both linguistic and metalinguistic knowledge and skills; identify, analyze and correct common linguistic errors and adopt autonomous learning strategies, so that in the future they can continue to apply and improve their language skills in different contexts, especially in the teaching of German.

- Grammatical structures corresponding to level B2.1 of the CEFR and consolidation of other aspects in which students show difficulties or specific needs, focusing on proficiency in the use of language, but also on language awareness and metalinguistic knowledge.
- Training in language comprehension and production skills, including strategies for recognizing, analyzing and correcting linguistic errors.
- Contact with the sociocultural reality of German-speaking countries, focusing on topics such as work, school, leisure, everyday life, youth, interpersonal relationships, current affairs in German-speaking countries; the diversity of the German-speaking world and comparison with the Portuguese reality.
- Skills in linguistic and intercultural mediation.
- Use of independent learning tools, such as dictionaries of various kinds, grammars and other means of further contact with the language.
