The presentations will be followed by discussion in the seminar. The seminar sessions on complementary topics will be based on expository presentation by the teacher and discussion of practical examples or other tasks by students.

Learning Outcomes

The main aim of this seminar is to guide the students in the preparation of their final MA report, which focuses on their specific research topic and their supervised teaching practice. Students are expected to:
– apply the research methods and tools acquired in the 1st semester to develop the thematic part of their report;
– show a good grasp of the chosen pedagogical-didactic topic, using a considerable number of sources, especially in English, and be able to extract relevant information from the literature for their supervised teaching practice and report;
– be able to develop, in the preparation of their report, a coherent argumentation, based on applied methodological principles and practical examples, and appropriately documented.

Syllabus

The topics to be discussed in the seminar are those chosen by the students for their final MA reports. By relating these topics to the subjects addressed in both English Didactics and in English Didactics and Teaching Practice, students will be able to further deepen and develop their ongoing research and apply it in their teaching practice. The topics of the MA reports may be complemented by other topics that are relevant for the teaching of English as a foreign language.
