Teaching Methods
This unit has a very strong practical component, although it also contemplates the presentation of theoretical contents, especially when clarifying doubts. It focuses especially on guiding and monitoring students through the process of choosing their subjects/case studies, defining the methodologies to use, collecting and handling bibliographical, cartographic and statistical data, among others, presenting and discussing subjects previously chosen from the case studies and their respective adequacy to teaching.

Objectives
- Define research themes in the fields of Human or Physical Geography supported by case studies on teaching Geography;
- Elaborate a research plan: goals, strategies and instruments for collecting and analyzing information;
- Analyze with critical judgment the results obtained;
- Suggest strategies, methodologies and activities to transmit the contents of the research in a didactic perspective;
- Reflect on their applicability in class;
- Elaborate a written report of scientific research and strategies applied in the teaching/learning process;
- Ensure the monitoring of the elaboration process of the final training report.
- Ability to question and discuss;
- Ability to plan and organize activities as well as scientific research tasks;
- Stimulate scientific accuracy, critical thought, originality and creativity in the process of transmitting contents in a teaching/learning context.

Define a research subject according to Geography programs taught in schools;
Presentation and discussion of a research plan;
Collection and handling of data;
Analysis and discussion of results;
Presentation of the scientific results of the research and discussion of the strategies and resources to be used when transmitting contents in a didactic and pedagogical perspective;
Elaboration of the final report.
