Teaching Methods

Pedagogical orientation / supervision during the period of supervised teaching by the observation of the student teacher’s classes and its discussion

Scientific-didactic  orientation / supervision of the Final Report.

Learning Outcomes

 – To provide teacher trainees with practical experience in teaching in their field of study, as well as contact with the wide spectrum of activities developed by teachers in schools;

– To promote teacher trainees’ development as future teachers and their critical and reflective attitude towards the processes and challenges of their profession;

- Critically apply the methods and contents studied to the practice of teaching and to the elaboration of the internship’s report;

- Deepen academic education suited to the requirements of teachingin the area in question;

- Deepen methods and research techniques in the context of specific didactics;

- Develop communication skills and logical argumentation.

Syllabus

1.  Supervised Teaching Practice

- Lesson plans / teaching unit: structure, objectives and content;

- Teaching materials: selection, development and integration into the lesson plan and the general plan of the discipline;

- Activities in the context of the classroom: adaptation, diversity and coherence;

- Instructional Strategies /learning: adaptation, diversity and coherence;

- Use rigorously scientific knowledge and its articulation;

- Time management, communication and interaction in the classroom context;

- Evaluation instruments in the context of the classroom and written work correction criteria;

- Ability to integrate in school and teaching centre

2. Final Internship Report.

- Critical reflection about the internship

- Analysis and development of a thematic of scientific and didactic nature;

- Specific bibliographic search the themes developed by the student teachers.
