Lecture presentations; discussions of information and ideas; visualization, analysis and discussion of filmic documents; visualization, analysis and discussion of other visual documentation (photography, advertising, etc.); development of thematic exercises.

Learning Outcomes

This is a class in the thematic scope of Human Geography, where it is intended that students develop habits of research and reading of scientific literature on topics of Geography and Society; analyze the main areas of the State of the Art of Contemporary Social Geography;  discuss applied socio-geographical issues; systematise written, critical reflections developed in theoretical and practical classes.  In order to realize the ultimate goal and consubstantiate the remaining ones, students should build a class dossier, composed of the indicated texts, as well as take notes, perform critical reflections and exercises developed in lectures and practical classes.

                 1.1     The genesis (required) of the class in historical-geographical context of post WWII.

                 1.2     The importance of territory and of the level of analysis

Theme 2 - Methodology: from the sources to the techniques
