Teaching Methods

Expository introductions will identify core issues and will lead students to the understanding of operational concepts, in a participative way.
Students will engage in practical work of specification, evaluation and operation of information systems for archives and libraries.

Learning Outcomes

The general aim of this course is to provide contact with library and archival information systems.
At the end of the course, students should be able to

– master the fundamental concepts of the design, specification, planning and operation of archival and library information systems;

– understand common application platforms and architectures;

– know the basic principles of software development models, so that they can interact with development teams and participate in projects that deploy, create or extend integrated systems.
