Teaching Methods

The curricular unit benefits from theoretical lessons, complemented by practical exercises. The elements used to measure learning results are periodic tests and problem resolving reports.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course students should be able to: i) identify, characterize and compare the main phases of the intellectual history of Archival Science; ii) identify and analyze the nature and specificities of Archival Science and its object of study; iii) understand and situate the main archival concepts and terms correctly and in their proper context of use; iv) identify and apply archival principles and methods, relating them to archival functions and practices; v) identify and discuss contemporary archival issues and problems, as well as areas of interest for study and research.
