Teaching Methods
The course has a theoretical-practical component. Expository methods are used to explain the theoretical content, which will be applied to the analysis and discussion of texts and specific cases and to the development of individual and/or group practical exercises. This methodology aims to reinforce the content of the theoretical classes and develop a critical spirit in the analysis of National and International Information Systems and Policies in the Digital Age. The final grade is the result of the sum of the following elements: test, research work and attendance/motivation.
Learning Outcomes
The main objective of this course is to present the contribution of the vision of organizations as open systems to the integrated management of Information Systems for Archives, Libraries, Museums and Online Services. At the end of the course, students should be able to: (i) explain the concept of a system and apply systemic thinking in simple situations; (ii) know the concepts and basic terminology of information systems and networks; (iii) acquire knowledge about the evolution of Information Systems; (iv) characterize organic-functional typologies; (v) understand the importance of cooperation in the field of Information Systems to respond to the challenges of digital transformation. It is expected that students will acquire a new mental framework and a new functional language that will allow them to reorient their perspective on management, now focused on an integrated vision that converges on creating value and strengthening competitiveness.
