Teaching Methods
The course is taught in theoretical-pratical classes that include lectures on the theoretical principles of the strategic management of Information Services and analysis of their mission in the Information and Knowledge Society. Students are encouraged to participate by discussing texts and applying theoretical principles to concrete examples.
Learning Outcomes
This course addresses the principles and methodologies that are implicitly or explicitly present in the strategic management of organizations. Therefore, its overall objective is to familiarize students with the theoretical and critical principles underlying the planning and evaluation of information systems. In specific terms, students are expected to:
(i) understand the role of planning in the strategic management of organizations;
(ii) understand evaluation as a tool for control and continuous improvement of organizations;
(iii) learn the different techniques and methods of planning and evaluation of archive and library information services.
