Expository introductions will identify core issues and lead students to the understanding of operational concepts, in a participative way.
Students will engage in practical work of metadata modelling and application, and use of infrastrutural tools.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the semester students should be able to
Understand fundamental concepts related to metadata;
Identify the conditions for the application of metadata in the context of information systems;
Understand the importance and impact of metadata in the structuring and retrieval of information;
Know the main metadata schemas used in library and archival fields of information science.
