Vertical lessons (A), reading (B), interpretation and discussion of texts in a horizontal frame (C); written and oral presentation of analytical papers (D), and a written final synthesis (E ).

Learning Outcomes

To recognize the historical development of the Philosophy in Portugal and to identify its authors, nuclear texts and its various linguistic phases and problems; to discuss and recognize the relevance of doing Philosophy in Portuguese language in the context of present globalization; to understand the diversity and specificity of philosophical thought in Portugal, to problematize its horizons and contextualize Portuguese philosophical production and its problems in the frame of their European philosophical context. Finally, to justify the European level of Portuguese philosophical production of the 16th Century and the rationale of the different philosophical expressions of the 20th Century. Being able to think with and in the wake of Portuguese philosophers.
