Learning Outcomes
After the conclusion of the semester the students will be able to
1. Identify the main themes and problems of the contemporary Social and Political Philosophy;
2. Classify the themes and problems under specific authors and / or philosophical theories;
3. Interpret specific texts where it is possible to perceive the themes and problems of the contemporary Social and Political Philosophy;
4. Reflect in a personal way about the topics and problems studied during the semester.

1. The epistemological meaning of the contemporary Theory of Society. Study of two authors: T. Parsons and N. Luhmann.
2. Legitimity concepts and the theoretical descriptions about the State and the Law in the writings of M. Weber, H. Kelsen and J. Rawls.
3. Economy and Society – Analysis of the economic theories on utility and the economic system of the modern society through the study of J. M. Keynes’s and F. Hayek’s texts.
