Learning Outcomes
This course focuses on certain topics in the philosophy of art. The couse will inyroduce students to fundamental reflections on art, which at least since Plato it is possible to identify throughout the history of philosophy. It is important to emphasize what has been called “speculative philosophy of art” and to distinguish philosophy of art from aesthetics. At the end of the semester, students should: 1) have improved their skills in the reading and interpretation of classic philosophical texts; 2) have read in depth 2 or 3 works proposed by the teacher; 3) be able to relate their respective themes to the general philosophical discourse on aesthetic experience and art; 4) be able to understand the complexity of the close relation and the distance between “philosophy” and “art”.
