Teaching Methods
The classes obey a theoretical-practical model. In this sense there will be a more theoretical component and expository that will be supplemented with another more practical, closely related with research, conducting small practical activities, exploration of some variables, indicators and statistic tools. It will be adopted a method of teaching for the discussion of theoretical elements, problem solving and practical development of activities, prospective analysis, centred on the students and in their skills.
Learning Outcomes
- Knowing the geographical, economic and social contexts of the construction of European identity, territorial diversity and the European Union;
- Understand the dynamics of demographic, social and economic behaviour in Europe;
- Understand the central socio-economic dynamics of the European territory;
- Understand the concepts and dynamics of the rural/urban spaces in Europe;
- Discuss the processes of urbanization, european urban systems and the cities centred on knowledge, innovation and creativity;
- Knowing the different mobilities, accessibilities, transport and telecommunications in Europe;
- Evaluate the centrality of knowledge and learning society, discussing the importance of education, innovation and ICT;
- Discuss the key issues related with the spatial planning and territorial, economic and social cohesion in Europe;
- Know the different instruments of regional development and the territorial/sectorial policies in European Union.
