Reading, morpho-syntactic discussion and translation of original Greek texts.
Back-translation exercises.
Learning Outcomes
Students will gain a knowledge of the characteristics of the ionic dialect, understanding how to match them with their counterparts in Attic dialect.
A complete knowledge of the morphology and syntax of ancient Greek, which translates into the understanding original texts, and the ability to develop literary translations.

I- Reading, review and translation of the Histories of Herodotus.
As an illustration, presents a selection which has the theme aggregator feature of the historian to the subject of "vindictive queen":

9. 108-113 (The Loves of Cerces)
NB: the texts to be studyied in class are subject to periodic review.
II. Grammatical and stylistic issues
– Characterístics of the new ionic dialect.
– Review and classification of morphological and syntactic aspects raised by the texts..
– Improvement in literary translation.
