Starting from the poetical, artificial and composite language of Homer, students make acquaintance in Greek VI with the Ionian Greek of Herodot. In what concerns grammmar, this is the adequate level to make deeper sistematizations, like the syntax of grammar cases with their specificities, the applications of verbal mods and tenses, the enlargement of the study of uses of prepositions. Such task makes possible the appreciation of stylistic options and subtle sense variations in the texts. It is give special emphasis to the enlargement of lexical knowledge.
