Teaching Methods

After presenting the theoretical framework of the class content, usually of a historical nature, and a brief overview of the sources of information available, students will analize archaeological, iconographic and literary sources from a diachronic perspective, whenever possible.

Students are encouraged to actively participate in discussions of the sources of information (available on NONIO), as well as to read the texts listed in the bibliography and conduct internet research.

Learning Outcomes

The proposed program seeks to stimulate the students to reflect on structural themes of Greek culture, still present in western culture, and provide students with the necessary skills to perform critical reviews of ancient sources (archaeological, iconographical and literary).
