Teaching Methods

The methodology used tries to promote the mixing of knowledges from the artistic and the scientific areas, to foster the reflexion about this interlacement, and to have the students experiment different modes of artistic creation and to express the results of that reflexion.

Seminars, pratical sessions of creative writing and development of script, devising of theatrical performance.

Learning Outcomes

Students will be introduced to a practical approach in contemporary creative practices and will experience different approaches to the artistic object in performative terms.

Syllabus

The students will follow scientific reserach projects occurring in the University of Coimbra. They will be introduced to the activity of the research centres and to the projects they will follow. After an initial learning on the artistic exporation of scientifc subjects, they will develop creative projects, based upon the scientific research, that will be perform in public.

The programme may include the following:

- seminar presentation of the research centre and projects activity;

- seminar on methods of artistic treatment of scientific themes;

- monitoring of a different scientific project by each group;

- definition of a script by each group;

- rehearsals/development of the projects and public presentation.
