Teaching Methods

Combination of theoretical presentation with numerous practical exercises. Analysis in classroom about the different music examples presented both by the teacher and the students. Weekly individual aural exercices.

Syllabus

The course aims to improve the student’s aural skills. Calling upon all music genres (with a particular focus on art music nevertheless), the course, through critical listening, takes into consideration the timbre, the texture, the rhythm and form of the musical work.

It is intended that, at the end of the course, the student will be able to more fully identify the musical work heard, its main characteristics and correlate it with its historical and/or stylistic context.
