Teaching Methods
Classes are organized to encourage the students’ active involvement in learning, fostering student teacher interaction.
The theoretical exposition will be illustrated with musical examples and documentation.
Presentation and discussion of work done by students on topics or texts previously indicated.

General objectives:
Understanding the various aspects related to Music Studies. Encourage and develop the capacity for critical skills.
Specific objectives:
- Understand the scope of study, major issues and tools for research in most areas associated with musicology: Music History, Theory and Analysis, Sociology and Psychology, Criticism and Aesthetics of Music.
- Understand the scope of study, major issues and tools for research in the area of musical genres and repertoire: World Music, Early Music, Opera and Concert, Jazz, Folk Music, Music in Film and Television.
- Understand the scope of study, major issues and tools for research in the areas of more practical: Performance, Composition, Music Technology.
