Learning Outcomes

Linguistic concepts and tools for analysis will provide students with an understanding of contemporary European Portuguese syntactic structures.

At the end of the semester, they should be able to identify, to analyze, to describe and to explain the structural and functional organization of sentence constituents and the functioning of lexical and syntagmatic categories. They should also be able to identify, discuss and explain complex syntactic structuresboth at production and processing levels.

2. Simple and complex sentences

3.2. Word order (including clitic placement and clitic climbing)
