Teaching Methods

Text, image and film analysis, commentary and debate; oral presentations; written individual assignments; and group work.

Students will be able to choose between continuous and final assessment. 

Learning Outcomes

This course is a linguistic reflection of systematizing and deepening of knowledge and aims the following objectives:

1. To be able to understand complex texts on concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions of his / her area of specialization.

2. To be able to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a point of view on a topical issue giving the advantages and Independent disadvantages of various options.

3. Foster student learning autonomy.

4. Develop an intercultural conciousness.

GRAMMATICAL CONTENT

- Concessive, conditional, causal and consecutive sentences.

- Conjunctions and connectors.

- Indirect speech.

LEXICAL CONTENT

- Expressions and proverbs.

- False friends.

- Coloquial language.

- Vocabulary related to the world of cinema, theatre, fine arts, the economic situation, etc.

- Vocabulary related to abstract description.

 

FUNCTIONAL CONTENT

- Know how to give and ask for information

- Know how to express opinions, attitudes and knowledge

- Know how to express likes, wishes and feelings

- Know how to structure the discourse

FONETIC CONTENT

- Ceceo, seseo e yeísmo

CULTURAL CONTENT

- Cinema, music, literature and current news from Spain.
