Learning Outcomes

The aim is to enhance the student’s ability to read and analyze the structure of authentic texts in German, as well as to read and understand excerpts of an intercultural linguistics manual, thus obtaining an overview of topics of debate within modern language studies, in the field of intercultural communication. As this is especially activated during the process of reading, the course aims at exercising and deepening previously acquired knowledge in other linguistics courses concerning the German language (especially on the lexical and syntactic domains), through illustrative analysis of chosen examples (words and/or sentences) from the study materials.
