Teaching Methods

Theoretical and practical sessions, with theoretical presentations by teachers and the preparation of small tasks by students, such as critical review of texts, oral presentations and preparation of written papers, among others.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the semester, students will have gained knowledge and skills in Tourism and Planning and a critical and analytical view on the subject

Some specific objectives and skills to be developed:

- Understand the physical and human diversity of the Portuguese territory - in time and space.

- Understand how this diversity can be resources/products for tourist activity.

- Understand the distinctive character of the Portuguese territory in the European context.

- Understand how the physical and cultural characteristics of Portugal can be an asset to the international tourism system.

2 - The Portuguese coastline and its tourist potential

3 - The climate of Portugal and its potential as a tourist resource

4 - The vegetation in Portugal,  its biodiversity and environmentally protected areas

6 - The Portuguese economy in the early 21st century.

7 - Tourism and the new territorial dynamics.
