Teaching Methods
Participatory lectures to present the theoretical and conceptual content of the class.
Throughout the semester students undertake research (literature review and/or field work) to develop skills in research methodologies and approaches and contact with agents promoting leisure activities.
Learning Outcomes
A solid understanding of the basic concepts associated with Tourism, Leisure and free time.
Understanding Tourism and Leisure as phenomena that depend on the location and interact with it.
Understand the relevance of the social valuation of Free time and Leisure in their relationship to work.
Understand the importance of geographical space and the social and professional contexts in the differentiation of places and practices of Tourism and Leisure.
Identify different models of tourist mobility and development of tourist areas.
Understand the national dimensions of the tourism phenomenon, the strategic perspective of supply and demand
Develop oral and written communication skills.
Discuss opinions in a group setting.
Collect, analyze and interpret data and information from primary and secondary sources.
